Realestate.com.au withdraws website widgets and webtools
REA Group – the owner of realestate.com.au – has decided to decommission all Webtools and Widgets from its services.
Real estate agents have been using these widgets for many years to be able to list a copy of their own data on their websites. This used to be an easy method for a house builder or real estate related website to display the latest properties for sale or rent from realestate.com.au in an iframe. This allowed any data displayed on the realestate.com.au website to be shown on your website, whether it was uploaded from internal property management systems such as Console, or added directly into the RE.com.au website admin itself.
The decision to do this means the only way for real estate agents or home builders to post data on their own website will be via property management systems, and then synced via approved uploaders via an XML file.
Kook has had vast experience with building real estate websites via XML feeds. We can advise on how to showcase your sale or rental properties on your own website and get the search engine rewards as an added bonus.
Kook has a dedicated page on this that may provide a bit more info: https://www.kook.com.au/our-work/real-estate-websites/
