Multi-page brochure website for the tourism/leisure industry
Offering a sanctuary to relax and revive, Uluramaya Retreat is nestled between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, perched atop 50 acres of eucalypt forest in the D’Aguilar Range west of Caboolture.
The client came to Kook with an outdated Dreamweaver static HTML website that was no longer a true reflection of their business, failing to effectively showcase the retreat’s beautiful surrounds or promote its points of difference.
Starting with creating a contemporary new logo for the retreat and migrating working in Kook’s own proprietary .NET Content Management System (CMS), our web design considerations were centred on the client’s intention to transition the retreat’s primary offering from weekend accommodation for couples into group bookings for events and weddings.
- Highlighting the uniqueness of the retreat’s offering as an eco-friendly, low-tech accommodation option with on-site catering and room for events, including the ability to host creative workshops.
- Improving the ease with which website visitors can contact Uluramaya Retreat, given their phone number previously only appeared within the text on their Contact Us page.
- Strengthening the Calls-To-Action (CTA) throughout each stage of the journey, to help increase conversion rates and generate more bookings.
- Simplifying the navigation structure to promote the three main offerings – accommodation, weddings and events – as well as creating conversion-focused landing pages for each.
The website also needed to show off the retreat’s new promotional video and 360-degree tours, so we linked to these from the home page slideshow and also embedded the video below the fold on the home page.
Leading to an increase in bookings for weddings within just a few weeks, Uluramaya Retreat’s new website is mobile responsive and touch-screen compatible, with the phone number (or icon depending on device) sticking to the top right of the screen on all pages, in addition to numerous “Enquire now” buttons and enquiry forms being included throughout the site.
In addition to directing visitors to call to make bookings or make enquiries, the site also includes a form that specifically enables visitors to request a personalised gift voucher. It also enables information on upcoming events to be found quickly and easily.
While being trained in how to make changes in the CMS admin area, the client expressed delight that the platform was simple to use.
